Century West assisted the City of Tekoa in applying for funds from the Washington State Department of Ecology to design more than 8,000 LF of sewer pipe replacements across the City. The sewer lines proposed for replacement were identified as having a high infiltration and inflow rate in a 2006 study conducted by Century West. These sections of pipe allowed enough inflow into the system that the influent flow rate at the treatment facility increased to 5 times the design capacity.
The project included design and permitting for several sections of pipe that will be bid in phases as funds allow. The City has more than $500,000 available through local funds and a CDBG grant for the project to bid phase one of the project.
