As the 2024 construction season in the Pacific Northwest wraps up, we are taking a moment to reflect on the progress made across a variety of projects. From improving roadways and intersections to enhancing airport facilities and supporting environmental sustainability, our team has worked tirelessly to deliver impactful results for our communities. This recap showcases some of the season’s standout projects, featuring photos and insights from the talented project managers who brought them to life.
West Curlew Lake Road Culvert Replacement Project
Ferry County, WA
This project involved replacing an undersized 36-inch diameter culvert with a fish-passage-compliant aluminum arch culvert, enhancing ecological connectivity and roadway resilience.
2024 Street Maintenance: SW Boones Ferry Road, SW Bailey Street, & SW Boberg Road
City of Wilsonville
This year’s street maintenance program included several improvements:
- SW Boberg Road (Photo 1): Full-depth pavement repair featuring 6.5 inches of asphalt over 12 inches of cement-treated subgrade. Two travel lanes and buffered bike lanes were incorporated in both directions.
- SW Bailey Street (Photo 2): A 2-inch grind and inlay were completed, restoring the two travel lanes and left-turn lane.
- Bailey Street and Boones Ferry Road Intersection (Photo 3): This intersection saw the installation of a new ADA ramp, updated striping, and a high-visibility green bike lane.
- SW Boones Ferry Road (Photo 4): The area underwent a 2-inch grind and inlay, featuring two travel lanes, a left-turn lane, and a landscaped median.
Jean Road & Pilkington Road Intersection Improvements
City of Lake Oswego
Significant upgrades were made to this intersection to enhance safety and traffic flow:
- Intersection (Photo 1): Full-depth pavement repair, new signal poles, and updated striping.
- Jean Road (Photo 2): A grind and inlay project added two travel lanes, a left-turn lane, and a bike lane.
- Intersection Features (Photo 3): The upgrades included new pedestrian push buttons, a signal pole, and enhanced crosswalk striping.
Apron & Fencing Reconstruction Project
Madras Municipal Airport
This project included the demolition of a WWII-era hardstand to make way for a new parking apron, with Mt. Jefferson providing a stunning backdrop.
Taxiway B Rehabilitation Project
Lake County Airport
A successful rehabilitation of Taxiway B was completed through crack repair and slurry seal, restoring its surface and extending its lifespan.
Tie-Down Apron
Wilbur Municipal Airport
A newly paved tie-down apron was constructed to improve aircraft parking and operations.
6th Avenue Reclaimed Water Extension
City of Airway Heights
This project involves the assembly of 12-inch reclaimed water pipelines to improve the City’s water infrastructure.
Lift Station Replacement
Town of Odessa
As part of an infrastructure upgrade, crews are backfilling and grouting key manhole components to enhance wastewater management for the community.
