job Description

Century West Engineering (Century West) is looking for a driven, creative, and self-motivated team player to join our four-person marketing team as a Proposal Manager. This person will be responsible for managing technical and marketing staff in the development of thoughtful, complete, and well-reviewed proposals, as well as supporting project managers in our Portland office and beyond with business development efforts both in and out of the office. Our ideal candidate has five or more years of A/E/C marketing experience and is comfortable representing our company at conferences, meetings, and professional events.   What You’ll be Doing: Reporting to Century West’s Marketing Manager, this position will have two primary responsibilities: proposal production and business development support.   Proposal responsibilities:
  • Manage proposal responses to RFPs, including facilitating kick-off meetings, managing proposal deadlines, writing and coordinating content, coordinating and receiving content from subconsultants, and complying with our quality management processes
  • Proofread, edit, and provide quality reviews of proposals prepared by other marketing and professional staff
  • Ensure content is comprehensive, competitive, client-specific, and brand compliant
  • Develop graphics that are visually compelling and tell a story
  • Manage project interview preparation and develop interview collateral
  Business Development responsibilities:
  • Partner with Marketing Manager to track leads, review Capital Improvement Plans, and otherwise help project managers identify target projects
  • Track business development activities in CRM
  • Manage conference registrations and set ups
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and networking events as a representative of the company
  Other responsibilities will include:
  • Manage special projects as assigned (e.g. special events, internal and external presentations, new marketing initiatives, etc.)
  • Develop brochures and other printed marketing materials
  • Contribute to social media or other internal and external communications efforts
  • Review and collaborate on written content and graphics prepared by other team members
  • Graphic design
  • CRM and website maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
  You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, English, Journalism, or other related field
  • 5+ years of A/E/C marketing experience
  • Strong graphic design experience
  • Strong writing, technical editing, and proofreading skills
  • Organizational skills that allow you to function under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator), Microsoft Office, and other relevant document production programs
