Project

Century West, as part of a project team, was selected for design and consulting services for the City of Bend’s $30 million Transportation Improvement General Obligation Bond Program. The entire program included the construction of four new roundabouts and the reconstruction of over 8,000 feet of Reed Market Road, a principal east-west arterial in Bend. Our role was to perform full engineering design for the reconstruction of Reed Market Road to arterial street standards from 3rd Street to 9th Street including improvements to American Lane. These sections of roadway total over 4,500 feet in length and included a new bridge, a railroad crossing, extensive irrigation canal impacts, and ADA-accessible sidewalks, ramps, and crossings.

In addition to detailed engineering design, Century West also provided program-wide stormwater management guidance and utility relocation coordination for each individual project within the Bond Program. Our responsibilities included surface water analysis reports, stormwater drainage and management reports, utility research, conflict reports, and coordination of placement and timing of the relocations of utilities.
