Project

Century West completed the design for this private development located at the busy intersection of Highway 41 and 16th Avenue in Post Falls, Idaho. This project involved the design of site layout improvements for a new industrial equipment rental and storage facility. Century West designed roadway widening for both 16th Avenue and Highway 41 along the entire frontage of the property as well as parking lot layout design and stormwater collection, treatment, and disposal improvements.

The project required storm drainage improvements to be designed to meet the requirements outlined in the Spokane Regional Stormwater Manual (SRSM), which included modeling and designing the improvements to treat and dispose of the runoff from a 10-year storm event using biofiltration swales. The project design incorporated many low impact development practices included in the SRSM such as on-site detention and infiltration biofiltration swales as well as flow control methods and infrastructure to reduce the peak influent flow rates of the stormwater generated by the site. Century West worked closely with the developer, architect, Idaho Department of Transportation, and the City of Post Falls to develop a site plan that met both the City’s and the developer requirements.
