Jim is a civil engineer with experience in design and contract preparation for transportation projects. He is known for managing design projects with competing goals and challenging budget and scheduling issues. These projects have encompassed budgets ranging from $50,000 to $93 million and include port facilities and highways. As a supervising engineer for Washington State Department of Transportation, he simultaneously managed all design and contract documents on multiple large‐scale projects while ensuring compliance with government regulations. As a private consulting engineer, Jim worked with Port of Seattle and Sound Transit for design/construction projects.

  • What amazing thing did you do that no one was around to see? I spent 30 seconds at the controls of a Pan Am 707 at 30,000 feet when I was just five years old.
