Port of Hood River, Aviation Technology & Emergency Response Center Project

Hood River, OR

Project

In 2016, the Port was awarded a Connect Oregon VI grant for the design and construction of a new light industrial shovel-ready development called the Aviation Technology & Emergency Response Center Project. Century West completed extensive permitting efforts for a wetland fill permit and designed over 2,700 LF of storm sewer that collected on-site and off-site stormwater, provided water quality treatment via swales and pollution manholes, and separated flow between two different outfalls. One new outfall routed flow to existing wetlands and another routed flow to a detention pond drain that fed into a new wetland mitigation site. The client requested designs for a sewer system to service future buildings that included a custom STEP system and over 1,600 LF of pressured and gravity sewers. Century West designed and coordinated a strategic replacement of over 650 LF of 20-inch and 4-inch irrigation line for Farmers Irrigation District. The project also included a water main extension and fire flow loop. This included 2,340 LF of 12-inch and 8-inch ductile iron water pipe to service the development. A high level of coordination went into permitting efforts and coordination with regulatory agencies and local utility providers. Century West is currently providing construction administration and inspection support on this project for the Port.
