Project
Century West provided design services for a roadway project in Newport, Oregon, to construct new pedestrian, vehicle, and storm facilities along a section of SW Harbor Drive. The intersections at both extents of the project were reconfigured with new curbing to improve the intersection geometry, provide additional parking, and add ADA-accessible curb ramps and crosswalks. Approximately 500 feet of sidewalk was added on the west side of the roadway between the modified intersections that required the design of a modular block retaining wall. Century West also provided stormwater delineation and modeling services to upgrade drainage along this corridor and replace inadequate and substandard facilities. Century West was able to help the client overcome design challenges resulting from the site’s steep topography, existing storm system, tie-in locations, and unique parking needs of the community.
